Am I? Societies do not change overnight, do not you agree? The western societies seem to be changing in the direction that eventually, as I hope, would render the question moot. What denominator had you in mind?

They may remind one of how the western society looked just a short while back, but does no longer. It's not to say that the current state of affairs is 100% satisfactory.
